Alaska Family Health & Birth Center

The time has come, the time is now: we’re throwing our first fundraiser dinner!  With 2009 promising to be an exciting year for the clinic, we thought a dinner party would be a great platform for us to present all those new changes.  Over a 4-course gourmet meal, a few key speakers will share where AFH&BC has come from, where we are now, and where we are headed.  The highlight of the evening will be both the unveiling of a new painting by local artist, Takenya Rosetta, as well as showcasing our new building plans.

We bought land!  It is on 30th Avenue between Peger and Lathrop, right next to the Fairbanks Montessori School.  After 25 years and 5 rented spaces, the clinic’s wanderings can finally come to an end.  Before winter set in, the land was cleared, the driveway was put in, and a hole was dug for the foundation.  Construction will resume in the spring after the blueprints are finalized and more funding is raised.
